Ripple Welcomes Monica Long As The New President
The cryptocurrency payment company Ripple Labs has appointed a new president as the ongoing SEC litigation against the company nears a conclusion. The company’s new president has stated that Ripple intends to continue exploring the world of crypto services.
Monica Long Becomes The New President Of Ripple
The new president of cryptocurrency payment company Ripple has been named. After working at Ripple since 2013, Monica Long, who was formerly the senior vice president and general manager of the organization, has been appointed to the new position.
The newly elected president gives an account of her time with the company and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to work with some of the smartest and most creative people in the cryptocurrency and technology industries. She also spoke about Ripple’s initiatives to meet challenging objectives, like offering inexpensive and immediate cross-border money transactions. She has also consistently found inspiration for the future and has upheld a strong belief in the “Internet of Value” vision.
According to Monica Long’s tweet, she has worked in the cryptocurrency sector for more than half of her professional career, with a substantial portion of that time spent at Ripple. She is thrilled and grateful for the chance to lead the organization as President. Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larson, both co-founders of Ripple, confirmed the appointment.
New Ripple President Eyes Cryptocurrency Expansion
The organization intends to further explore the world of cryptocurrency services, particularly in the areas of custody, settlement, and liquidity, according to Ripple’s freshly appointed president. Given that she has previous experience holding the position of general manager of RippleX and was involved in its creation, this focus is anticipated to include the XRP Ledger as well. Significant advancements were made during her leadership, including the first phase of EVM sidechain development being finished and the appearance of NFT on the XRPL following the XLS-20 amendment.
When Ripple had just 10 employees and was still in its beginnings, Monica Long joined the company. She was instrumental in developing On-Demand Liquidity, the company’s core product that debuted in 2018. The business launched LiquidityHub, a supplementary service, last year and intends to grow it further. According to Long, nearly 60% of RippleNet’s payment volume in the previous year came from on-demand liquidity.
The San Francisco Business Times has recognized Monica Long as a very significant woman in business and the payments sector. She was also a part of HSBC’s “Women on the Rise in FinTech” campaign, which aims to celebrate notable women in the sector and raise awareness of gender diversity.
